
The following terms and conditions apply for all accounts created with the Boots Commit to Quit programme (this service).
1.General
Membership is also subject to our standard terms and conditions We are committed to protecting the information we collect about you and the privacy terms which apply to your service membership are detailed in our privacy policy
By creating an account with Boots Commit to Quit micro-site, you have agreed for the details you have provided to us to be stored to give you access to the ‘my account’ area including the online planner on the Commit to Quit micro-site. By creating an account you are opting-in to receive e-mail communications from Boots relating to Commit to Quit account creation as well as e-mail product offers and service announcements from Boots. E-mail will be sent to the address you provide to us when applying to the service. Throughout the Service you can opt out of messaging through either replying to the e-mail you receive, or by clicking unsubscribe within the e-mail content. We will not share your e-mail address or personal information with any company outside of the Boots group of companies and successors.
Final sign up date for creating an account to this service will 1st September 2007 – after which time the site will remain operational until 30th November 2007.
No data submitted as part of the Commit to Quit Programme will be made available to any third parties (except companies involved in providing and maintaining the service on behalf of Boots).
2. Your Tips (user generated content)
By submitting your tip(s) which help you get through your day smoke-free, you are agreeing for your tip(s) to be published onto your tips on www.bootscommittoquit.com.
All tips will be moderated by the Boots Commit to Quit team before being published and all suitable tips will be posted within 14 days of receipt.
By submitting a tip, we will not use your information for purposes other than publishing your tip(s) as requested.
3. Online chat via ’Commit to Quit Forum’ tool
We want everyone to enjoy using the Commit to Quit forum, so we’ve put together a list of guidelines to help you make the most of it.
Keep your Shared Comments relevant to the Commit to Quit programme.
For your protection and in the interests of safety, decency and pharmaceutical industry guidelines and legislation, messages that are in breach of the guidelines below may be edited or deleted from the site.
The following are examples of what is not acceptable on this site:
Named prescription only medicines
Inappropriate or unsafe medical advice, including reference to inappropriate use of a medicine
Disparaging reference to a healthcare product, company, institution or medical profession
Reference to inappropriate use of a vitamin, mineral, supplement or other complementary healthcare product
Reference to a named healthcare professional
Medicinal claims made about a product which is not a medicine
Excessive praise for a medicine likely to encourage over-use
Messages which, in the moderators view contains vulgar, offensive, sexually orientated or abusive language
Messages which appear to be blatant advertisements
Messages which cause offence or distress to anyone reading them
Messages which contain a personal e-mail address, postal address or telephone number
Messages which contain price information which is misleading
Messages which are posted with a username that could be deemed offensive
We will not be able to post messages in any other language other than English
If users do not adhere to these guidelines we may temporarily suspend their ability to take part in any discussions or suspend the Commit to Quit programme. Continued breach of the guidelines may result in permanent exclusion. Boots reserves the right to delete any message displayed in the message boards at any time, for any reason without notice.
Legal obligations
The law says you may be liable if you post defamatory or illegal material of any nature on the message boards. This includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio. Sending a message with the intention of committing an illegal act is strictly prohibited. By entering words and comments, you agree only to send material to which you have the copyright or other permission to distribute electronically. You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade, secret, privacy, personal, publicity, or proprietary rights.
If you are under 18: Make sure you have your parents’ permission before you go online and enter your comments.
Entering your words and comments is your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Other than your chosen username none of the registration information you provide will be published or disclosed within the site.
